Bayer joins fight against severe drought in the Western Cape
The Western Cape Province is facing a severe drought and stringent water restrictions have been imposed in the area. Insufficient rainfall and fast declining dam levels have led to the current unprecedented water crisis
In light of this water crisis and the impact it has had on the farming community, Bayer has pledged its support to Agri SA, a South African agricultural industry association, to assist with their emergency drought relief project aimed at addressing the drought in the Western Cape.
Agri SA, supported by Bayer and the agriculture community will transport animal food to distressed farmers and distribute food parcels to farmers and farm workers in affected areas.
The drought has had a huge impact on the Western Cape communities and does not only affect the farmers but the neighbouring rural communities and towns that depended on farmers. It is for this reason that Bayer has joined the fight and pledged its support to Agri SA.
