Bayer presented itself to the 53rd annual NAMPO Harvest Day in full force as a combined company for the first time since acquiring legacy Monsanto.
Bayer’s Networking Corner, where the focus was on interaction with growers and their families and the Bayer Product Exhibition focused on product and innovation. Together, these interactions provided the perfect platform to meet South Africa’s farming community.
NAMPO Harvest Day is hosted by Grain SA outside Bothaville in the Free State, and is the biggest agricultural show in Africa, attended by thousands of growers as well as member of the public. This year, Bayer’s presence was bolstered by the sponsorship of the high profile Nation in Conversation forum discussion. Mary Willemse Campaign and Customer Insights Manager for the Crop Science division says, “Our key objective was to engage with growers and industry as well as the general public by offering a strong advocacy message to create awareness of our brand, our technology and our innovation.”
In promoting the theme of shaping Agriculture through tailored agronomic solutions, Willemse explained, “We built our campaign around six pillars, which included DEKALB Genetics, Biotechnology, SeedGrowth, Crop Protection, Digital Farming and our people, while highlighting the manner in which they offer the farmer a tailor-made agronomic solution fit for their particular needs."
This year, NAMPO formed the perfect platform on which to cement Bayer as the leader in the agricultural industry as one team. “As much as the focus of NAMPO is on the exhibits, it gives us an increased ability to strengthen relationships and partnerships which are a priority for Bayer, ” concluded Willemse.
