Xpro™ Technology: two actives, one powerful solution
Aviator® Xpro™ features Xpro™ technology; a powerful fungicide solution for cereal and canola that combines the two actives Bixafen (SDHI) and Prothioconazole (DMI).
These two active ingredients work in different yet synergistic ways to stop disease development in its tracks. Bixafen inhibits the respiratory chain, stopping cellular respiration of the pathogen, while Prothioconazole targets the sterol biosynthesis pathway, breaking down the cell membrane.
While both actives have unique systemic properties, they translocate in the plant at a similar speed, simultaneously targeting pathogens. Aviator® Xpro™ has both preventative and curative properties and targets various stages during the pathogen’s development – from germination to sporulation.
Once Aviator® Xpro™ is applied to the crop, it penetrates the leaf cuticle. It is distributed within the leaf tissue and is transported through the xylem. This means that the leaf is protected both from the inside and the outside. This unique distribution within the leaf tissue means an extension in the duration of activity, which enhances overall efficacy.
The greening effect
Apart from providing excellent disease control, Aviator® Xpro™ also has a beneficial effect on the physiology of the plant. This fungicide has an anti-ageing effect, resulting in plants staying greener and healthier for longer. This delay in senescence allows for an extension of the grain-filling period, which helps boost yield potential and has a significant effect on the plant’s ability to recover following drought stress.
Leafshield™ formulation system

Furthermore, this triple adjuvant formulation enhances the sticking and spreading of the actives on the leaf surface. Upon contact, the adjuvants rapidly decrease the surface tension of the spray, which results in droplets covering and adhering to a broader area of the leaf surface. The contact area will increase until the product evaporates, which means intense contact with the leaf surface is created during this period.
